Best Locking Hitch Pin For 2026 Toyota Sequoia With Limited Space Around The Hitch Receiver

Hi- I would appreciate your recommendations for a locking hitch pin that will work on a 2026 Toyota Sequoia. There is limited space on this vehicle on either side of the receiver, so I would like to make sure I purchase a hitch pin that will fit. Thank you! Dave Saylor

Hey Dave, thanks for reaching out. For hitch setups with limited space on either side like your Sequoia, the best option for a hitch lock is the following:
- Master Lock Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - Swivel Head Design - 2" Hitches # 1479DAT
This uses a lock core that faces the rear of the vehicle instead of the side. That makes it much easier to insert and turn the key on those tight setups. I'd still want you to take some measurements to make sure the lock will work for you. It is 5-3/8" long overall, so I'd suggest measuring just to confirm. As long as you have space for a 5-3/8" long lock, you will be good to go.

I purchased the Master Lock Trailer Hitch Lock for my 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander for the same problem you are having, not enough room to get the normal hitch pin lock and then comes the problem of getting the key inserted into the end of the lock.But this lock solves that problem by being able to insert the key from the side. Works great on my Toyota!

Dave S.: On my Tesla there is so little room to the sides of the hitch I couldn’t use my standard hitch lock. With this the key lock faces you so you lock it straight on instead of from the side. I think it should work for you. Good luck.
