Will Rear Sumo Springs Work On 2022 Jayco Swift 20T With Jayco J Rite Hellwig Overload Springs

Question:

I have a 2022 Jayco Swift 20t on a 3500 ram ProMaster chassis. It has the Jayco J ride Hellwig over load springs which I think could use some help, will the Sumo bump stop over load springs work in conjunction with the Jayco installed Hellwig springs? Thanks Rich

Hey Richard, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the rear SumoSprings for the Ram ProMaster 3500 should be able to work along with the Jayco-installed Hellwig overload springs, as long as there is still room at the factory bump stop location. The SumoSprings replace the factory bump stops, so they are not usually fighting the Hellwig leaf/overload springs. They just add progressive support as the rear suspension compresses.

I’d recommend just double-check that Jayco didn’t add any brackets or hardware in the bump stop area that would interfere. If that area is still open, they'll be a good helper setup for reducing sway and rear-end sag without adding air bags.

Are you hauling a trailer with your Jayco? Or are these more for supporting the weight or cargo inside the motorhome?

I installed in my 2022 promaster 1500 (the chassis for my Thor Rize). It curried the roll and sway and I think it rides better.

Yes, you will be glad you did upgrade, Took out all the sway back in forth, noticed difference right away. Raised the Back in 1 1/4 inch on last hole 3/4 in on first hole. Great product 2023 Ram 3500 Nova 20D
