Good question Jack, happy to help.
The Specialty Recreation Inner Garnish for RV Skylight # SR57RR is usually installed using screws and does not require roof sealant.
If you'd like, you can place a thin strip of butyl tape behind the flange before installation to help seal the interior trim against the ceiling surface, but it is not required.
The #SR57RR is the interior garnish that installs on the inside of the RV. It is typically secured with screws and does not require roof sealant.
If you are replacing the exterior skylight at the same time, that should be installed with butyl tape under the mounting flange and an appropriate RV roof sealant over the fasteners and flange, depending on the roof material.
What RV are you replacing the inner garnish?
