Happy to help Bruce H,
To install the Specialty Recreation Skylight we'd recommend using the Specialty Recreation Skylight Installation Kit # SR76RR. Years ago, most RV skylights were usually installed with butyl tape under the flange and self leveling sealant over the screws. Specialty Recreation now recommends a butyl sealant that's compatible with their polycarbonate skylights, opposed to butyl tape.
This kit includes a 10.3 oz tube of butyl sealant that's safe for use with all RV roof types and 44 zinc mounting screws for installation.
Are you replacing an existing skylight or is this part of a roof repair project?

Hey Bruce, You’re not going to want to use the tape. Use the tube of sealant supplied, if done correctly you will have no concerns and once it levels out, you’ll have a nice neat finish. Good luck Tommy
