So, folks, you got a replacement skylight or a new one you're putting in, and it's made of polycarbonate, well you're gonna want to use the Specialty Recreation Skylight Installation Kit to provide the correct sealant and screws to make the installation go smoothly. So, this is their SR40 Sealant. It is made of a butyl substance. It's a butyl sealant, and it is compatible with all roof types and polycarbonate skylights.
So, that's the most important part there. The polycarbonate skylights, you wanna use this kinda sealant. Never use self-leveling adhesives and sealants on polycarbonate, as that chemical make makeup could break down the polycarbonate, and cause a failure over time. It's a white sealant, it is paintable, and they give you 44 weather-resistant zinc-coated screws with the correct size for mounting your skylight. The lid was made for a flat surface and not for the my trailer. It was difficult to install and will give us issues in the future. The sealant was not self levaling as the person told me.
