Question:

Can you explain how the Cummins Onan P11000iTF Paralleling Kit works. Once the generator are in parall do you just plug into one of the 50 amp sockets? Most of the parall kits ive seen the kit has a seprat plug that you would used to get power from both generators. Thanks

Hey Joshua, thanks for reaching out. Yes, that's exactly how the Cummins Onan P11000iTF Paralleling Kit works, and it's a little different from the portable generator parallel kits most people are familiar with.

With many smaller inverter generators, the parallel kit itself contains the output receptacle, so you plug your RV or load into the parallel box. That's because the individual generators don't have a receptacle capable of handling the combined output.

The Onan P11000iTF generators are built different. Once the two generators are connected with the paralleling kit and properly synchronized, the generators communicate with each other and share the load internally. After that, you simply plug your load into one of the generator's 50-amp receptacles. The parallel cables are handling the synchronization and load sharing, not acting as the output connection.
