Troubleshooting Installation of B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch in 2001 GMC 2500

Enter post seems too long on my B and W companion fifth wheel base I have 2001 GMC 2500 truck that came with a B and W turnover ball goose neck. I bought a used B and W companion fifth wheel base model number # RVB 3500 serial # COB 34499. I just bought a new head for it, Model # 3600. When I went to put the base in, the base with the rubber bumper does not sight on the bed of the truck. It seems as if the center post is too long for the goose neck receiver. Is there a Short Center post available? Thanks

The Replacement Base for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 20,000 lbs # BWRVB3500 will fit any turnoverball gooseneck hitch. The new head # BWRVC3006 basically gives you the B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3500 and if you look at the attached installation details you will see there are a couple different socket post positions and also a socket adjuster to assist.
