How Big of a Table Top Works w/ the Terran Industries Telescoping Dinette Table Leg TX73VJ?

Updated 06/15/2026 | Published 06/12/2026

Question:

I’m looking to add this to my 2018 Airstream Basecamp 16. I would add supports along the edge of the cabinet to support the table top in the lowered bed position. In the table position would a 52” x 32” be too large to be stable? Is there a recommended max table size? Thanks

Hey Dennis, thanks for the picture! The Telescoping Dinette Table Leg item # TX73VJ does not have a size limit for the table top. 52” x 32” is going to be completely reasonable depending on the material. You can use whatever top best fits the space you have as long as it doesn't exceed the weight capacity of 174 lbs in the lowered position or 85 lbs in the raised position.

The Telescoping Dinette Table Leg item # TX73VJ has a 9-1/2" wide base with 6 mounting points for stability. It has a extended height of 27-1/2" and a retracted height of 12-1/4".

I linked an installation video below so you can see how to get the table leg set up.

What kind of material were you planning on using for the top and does the weight capacity affect the size you were wanting to go with?
