Question:
Hello, We are considering the purchase of a tear trailer with these side of tire: 15” aluminum rims and 205/75R15 Toyo AT tires. What would be the appropriate wheel lock for this tire size? An etrailer branded lock and/or other brand. Thank you.

Hi Carlos, great question!
The etrailer Trailer Wheel Lock, part # 288-02020 that you were looking at, is a great choice for a teardrop trailer equipped with 205/75R15 Toyo AT tires. A tire in that size is typically right around 8 inches wide, which falls comfortably within the lock's adjustable range of 6-3/4 inches to 10-1/2 inches. It provides a highly visible theft deterrent by clamping securely around the tire, and the dipped arms help protect aluminum wheels from scratches during use.
I like this option because it is simple to install, easy to see from a distance, and versatile enough to work with a variety of trailer tire sizes should your setup ever change. The tubular lock design also adds an extra layer of security compared to many basic wheel locks.
If you end up purchasing the teardrop trailer, I think this lock will give you a solid combination of convenience and peace of mind when leaving it parked.
Out of curiosity, where do you usually plan to park the teardrop when it's not in use: at home in the driveway, in a storage lot, or primarily at campsites?

Stay away from the etrailer brand wheel lock . It is flimsy thin tin metal that will bend with even the slightest shift in the trailer against it. Total garbage. I returned for refund and had to pay $25.00 shipping, so either way you lose. Buy the tri max brand instead. Excellent choice. I would buy the large size
