Hello Ken,
Great question.
No, you do not need to install a separate check valve after the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump # SE57FR. The pump has a built-in check valve that prevents city water pressure from flowing backward through the pump and into the fresh water tank.
As long as the pump is installed correctly, the internal check valve is designed to handle this function on its own, so an additional check valve is not required when switching between the onboard water system and a city water connection.
Are you replacing an existing pump in your RV, or are you upgrading your water system before your next camping trip?

Hello, The water pump in question has never been installed on my RV, and is still in the box stowed in the compartment where the original water pump is located. I keep it as a "just in case" item. Sorry I cannot offer any more info.
