Hello Todd,
Nice job upgrading your setup with the SEAFLO # SE57FR pump and the # SE38FR accumulator, that’s a solid combo. The accumulator tank comes pre-charged to about 10 psi from the factory, but it’s really important to check and adjust that pressure whenever you replace or change your pump. That’s because the correct pre-charge depends on your pump’s pressure switch settings, basically, when the pump turns on and off.
Your # SE57FR pump typically kicks on around 30 psi and shuts off around 50 psi. To get the best performance, you’ll want to set the accumulator’s air pressure to about 2 psi below that cut-in point, so around 28 psi is perfect. To adjust it, just turn off your pump, open a faucet to relieve all the pressure, and use a tire gauge on the accumulator’s Schrader valve. Add or release air with a small hand pump until it reads about 28 psi, then close the faucet and power your pump back on.
Taking a minute to dial that in will really pay off, you’ll get smoother water flow, your pump won’t cycle on and off so quickly, and the whole system will just run happier.
Where did you install this pump, RV, Boat, etc???

Hey Todd, how did the pressure adjustment on your SEAFLO pump and accumulator turn out after the change? Did setting the tank around 28 psi smooth out the water flow like you hoped? Your results could really help others fine-tuning the same setup.
