What Is the Weight Capacity of the Saris Superclamp G4 Bike Rack?

hi - if using a bike carrier on this mount saris superclamp 4 is the weight limit 800lbs? I am reading that there is a difference in weight load when using a trailer vs bike carrier since the trailer is also supported by its wheels?

The Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/Towing Kit part # 391AUDQ818T is rated for 800lbs of tongue weight. Tongue weight is 10% the downward force exerted on the hitch, if you're pulling a trailer that limits the trailer weight to 8,000lbs because 10% of 8K is 800lbs. If you're using an accessory like a bike rack in the hitch you are limited to 800lbs because all the weight is straight down on the hitch receiver. The towing capacity of your 2026 Audi SQ8 is roughly 7,700lbs depending on the model which is why the hitch is rated for just over it at 8K. If you're planning on only using a bike rack with your trailer hitch, I recommend using the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver part # 391AUDQ818 instead. It is the same hitch but is more cost effective because it's intended only for bike carriers and hitch accessories, so it doesn't include the towing kit.
However, the Saris Superclamp G4 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes part # SAR69XR is rated for 60lbs per bike on the two inner trays and 35lbs per bike on the two outer trays. So, at max weight per bike the rack can handle 190lbs total from the bikes. The Saris Superclamp G4 itself weights 55lbs, so the total weight of the bike rack and bikes is 245lbs which is well within your the hitch's tongue weight.
