Is There Morryde Cushioned Pin Box that Can be Used on Alliance 22ML 5th Wheel

Updated 04/23/2026 | Published 04/18/2026

Question:

Hi I am looking at an Alliance 22ml that has a curt roto flex pin box on it? Will i be able replace that pin box with a Morryde cushioned pin box? Thanks

Hey Tim, I did some digging and it looks like your Alliance 22ml would have the Rhino box style pin box on it currently so the correct MORryde cushioned pin box replacement would be the part # MR45ER.

Below you can see a customer of ours confirms that the Rhino is what you have so the correct part number would be the # MR45ER.

If that's not what you have it would most likely be the 1621 which the part # MR64VR you referenced would replace. On the pin box there should be a label or sticker that has it's info listed on it.

Not to contradict Jameson, but I own a 2025 Alliance All Access fifth wheel 23ML and purchased and installed a Morryde pin box last week. I worked with etrailer and did confirm that th3 23ML does have the Rhino pin box. The Alliance 23ML (I assume your 22ML was a typo) has a GVWR of 10,495lbs. For a Morryde Rhino pin box for units under 11,500lb, the correct etrailer# is MR45ER. This crosses to the Morryde model # RPB77-FD-03. I installed the Morryde MR45ER last week but have not towed with it yet. You could install the MR83QR as Jameson suggested but that is for trailers rated 14k-18k so unless you load the trailer way over the 10,495 it won't cushion as much as that pin box will be substantially stiffer. I'll defer to Jameson for his opinion.....

@SteveM great catch! Yes you went with the better option based on the GVWR so I will update my answer to match that!

@JamesonC I am now confused as we are looking into a used 2024 or 2023 Alliance 22ml and everyone I look at has a Curt Roto Flex hitch on the front. So I guess i will wait until I decide on the one we will get and then give you a call. Thanks for the quick response. Tim

@Tim Sorry about that! So Rhino is the pin box type and Roto Flex is a cushioned pin box that will fit in place of a Rhino. So what you have is a Roto Flex designed to replace the Rhino box so the # MR45ER is what you need.
