Is a Lippert 1621 Pin Box Considered an Extended Pin Box

Question:

Are all of the Lippert 1621 extended? How much longer are they compared to the standard ones? Thanks Marc

Hey Marc, the Lippert 1621 pin box is considered an extended pin box but it's essentially the standard pin box nowadays and doesn't extend past what you have now if you were looking for a way to upgrade. Are you wanting better turning clearance?

Come to find out i have the 1116 pin box. Do they have a extended version for the 1116? Our first trailer had a 1621 pin box and I assumed the trailer we have now also had a 1621. Yes I am looking for better turning clearance. Thanks Marc

@MarcS I have a solution with the Sidewinder part # RP77FR but there isn't a way to just extend the pin box you have now with a longer one. I don't know if you're familiar with Sidewinders but you gain a lot of turning clearance with them as the pivot point gets moved back 22.5 inches so you'll be able to make tight turns no problem. What hitch do you have?

Curt R5. It's a roller. I was hoping there was a longer pin box, so I wouldn't have to use the roller. Thanks for your time Marc

@MarcS The Sidewinder I mentioned would work as long as the Curt hitch you have isn't a Q Series hitch as the jaw of that hitch just doesn't hold up to the added stress of the Sidewinders. The R5 refers to the slider base though.
