Question:
Im looking to replace my electric drum brakes on my 2025 Hawke dump trailer 6x12 10,000 GVW 3.5k axles. Which brakes would be the best?

Hi Tyler, great question.
For your 3,500 lb axles, you’re going to be using the standard 10 inch by 2-1/4 inch electric drum brakes with a 4 bolt mounting pattern, which is the most common setup and makes replacement pretty straightforward.
A solid, reliable option is the etrailer brake kit part # AKEBRK-35-SA that you were looking at. These are self-adjust so you don't have to crawl under and adjust them. The hardware for these assemblies is part # BRKH10BS if you are needing new hardware.
If you want to be completely sure before ordering, the only thing I’d double check is that your brake flange is the standard 4 bolt pattern, which it almost always is on 3.5K axles, just so everything lines up perfectly.
Are you planning to replace the hubs as well, or just the brake assemblies this time around, and what do you usually haul with your Hawke, more yard work, equipment, or heavier materials?
