Do I Need a Cable for the Replacement Remote for My Progressive Dynamics Inverter?

Updated 04/08/2026 | Published 04/04/2026

Question:

My inverter in installed on the ceiling of my storage unit in my 2026 East to West Alta 2600KRB. Obviously viewing the panel it came with is rediculous...so I need this remote. Does it come with a cable ? and if not what cable does it require ? I noticed in the Inverter comes with a remote and cable but all I need is the remote and the proper cable connection. Thanks. Once I know...Im buying this !!!

Hello Eric,

I am glad you wrote in! The Replacement Remote for Progressive Dynamics PD1600 Series Inverters # PD46MR does not include the cable, so you will also need the Replacement 25' Cable for Progressive Dynamics PD1600 Series Inverters # PD96MR.

The remote # PD46MR is compatible with the following models: PD1660, PD1670, and PD1680. So I would just confirm that you have one of those model numbers.

It is a little annoying that they set up the inverter like that so you can't read it, but at least there is a quick easy fix.

Congrats on the new travel trailer! Where did you take it for your first trip?

Thanks Kate. First trip was to San Diego...from Tucson. Learned a LOT. Over the weekend I did lots of research and found the Progressive Dynamics Web Site...and the parts required. Couple of points... Their Remote costs $33 instead of your $67... Their cable costs $14 while yours costs $23. They also require the serial number of my Inverter before they will allow me to purchase a remote. I'd rather buy from you... but it would seem that my model (PD1618) is not included in what your remote works with. True ? Thanks Eric

@Eric I love that you say, "Learned a LOT" and not "A total nightmare." Definitely a lot of learning with campers, 2 pointers for sure is to make sure you awning is put away before a storm blows in, and always put your steps in. I deal with a lot of damaged steps and awnings all due to learning experience =) With how much you can save through them, I would not blame you. The PD1618 is part of the 1600 series, so it is most definitely compatible. I wish I had a play with our pricing, but my hands are tied.

@KateF Thanks for your help. I felt bad about NOT buying the remote from you folks...but I did just purchase a TST 770 TPMS system for $519.00 so I feel better. Excellent customer service means something...and you were fantastic and human. Thanks again, Eric

@Eric It does make me feel a little better that you feel bad Eric... just kidding. I totally understand, hard to beat the manufacturer's price sometimes. The TST system is great! Who wants a blow out if you can prevent one, most of the time it is due to overheating, this will prevent that and save a trip =) We definitely appreciate you being a loyal etrailer neighbor (customer)!
