Which Victron Orion XS DC To DC Charger Is Best For Silverado 2500 Charging 200 Ah Battery Bank

Updated 04/08/2026 | Published 04/04/2026

Question:

Hi there, I have 2 100amp hr lithium ion batteries connected in parallel in my RV 200amp hr bank total and a Chevy Silverado 2500 truck. Bc my battery bank in the rv is larger, it ends up charging the truck batteries when I’m driving. I want to have the RV batteries charging while driving and not backfeeding to charge the truck battery. What Victron Orion model do I need for this? Thank you for your time!

Hey AJ! The best option for your setup is the Victron Orion XS RV Converter - DC to DC - 12V/12V - 50 Amp # VN93VR. This will take power from your truck’s alternator and charge your RV batteries while also preventing any backfeeding into the truck.

The 50A output is a great match for your 200Ah battery bank, so you'll get solid charging while you're driving. The other model you were looking at is designed for higher voltage systems, which you don't need for your specific setup.

What kind of trailer are you towing and where are you headed next?
