How Does the Atwood Reverse Lock Out Solenoid Install on an Atwood Actuator

Updated 07/10/2014 | Published 07/08/2014

Question:

Do you have the installation manual for this solenoid and is a separate shield required? Im looking at replacing a 6K Lbs coupler on a Four Winns boat trailer with disk brakes. Currently has an Atwood coupler w/o the electrical solenoid. Would also consider the Demko and Titan couplers which appear to have the solenoids already installed. Just concerned about the fit on these.

I can tell you how the Solenoid Kit part # T4748800 intalls, and it comes with an instruction manual, but I could not get a copy to show you.

One of the two black wires (doesn't matter which one) will run to the reverse light circuit of your tow vehicle. The other will get grounded to your trailer. The male fitting of the solenoid will thread onto the back of the master cylinder. The female side will thread to the brake line that runs to your trailer brakes.

The rubber line of the solenoid will run back to the top of the master cylinder. You will remove the plug right above the main brake line of the cylinder and run the hose there.
