What Trailer Hitch do I Need for My 2018 Subaru Forester for My Allen Bike Rack?

Question:

How can I connect Allen 4 bikes ruck to my Subaru Forester 2018 it doesn’t have any receiving parts.. thanks ??

Hello Agnes,

Welcome to etrailer, I am so glad you found us!

In order to put the Allen bike rack on your 2018 Subaru Forester, you will need to install a trailer hitch. I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98839. This will give you a 2" receiver on the back so you can mount the bike rack.

I really like our etrailer hitch because it comes in a matte black finish, which gives it a clean OEM look.

I included an install video, but also included our "Dealer Locator" if you would like to pay someone to do the install.

What kind of bikes do you have? Do you have a favorite trail you like to ride? We have the Katy Trail here in Missouri, and when the weather is nice, it is packed with riders!

The trailer hitch was easy to install and came quickly. All parts were included in the kit.

I had my mechanic install mine, he actually had recommended ( etrailer.com ) to me, everything needed was in the shipping box and fit great! I use it for a cargo basket and towing a small boat.

I have a 2016 forester. I added a trailer hitch from etrailer to my Subaru so I can attach my Hollywood Racks destination E electric bike rack to my Subaru. It is a nicely made receiver..pretty beefy.

@Ann Thanks for the response Ann! Do you have a specific trail you like to ride? The Katy Trail here in Missouri that is around 240 miles, nice flat trail mostly =)
