Parts Needed to Add Air Compressor To Air Lift 5000 Air Bags With Braided Lines

Updated 03/03/2026 | Published 03/01/2026

Question:

I am wanting to know what I need to hook up an airlift compressor to my existing airlift 5000 ultimate system since they are braided lines. I wasn’t sure if I need any extra to purchase or if the compressor will come with everything. Any information or diagram how to go about doing this would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey Todd, welcome back! An air compressor like the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System for Air Helper Springs # AL25980EZ comes with everything you need for installation.

This is compatible with the braided lines on your existing air bags, so you won't need any additional fittings or adapters. This compressor comes with a remote and can also be controlled via the app. It also has the EZ mount which makes installation, well, easier.

Is this for your Sierra 2500?

Is there any way to add this compressor to my current setup so I can inflate my air bags if compressor goes out?

@ToddR yes you can leave the existing valves in place. If you look at the main diagram for the # AL25980EZ in the installation instructions you can see the air line running to the valves at the back is still there.

Hi Todd, I have this setup and it’s not my first time using Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System for Air Helper Springs. I use this setup on all my trucks. I have the tankless onboard compressor and I use the App on my phone to change pressure when needed. I also use the remote on occasion. If you’re doing the install yourself, just try to mount the compressor underneath not in the direct path of where road debris or mud will kick up off the tires. You’ll want to keep it clean and mount it up as high as you can go. I put mine under the passenger seat along the frame. You can get creative and mount unistrut with beam clamps (Home Depot) for support brackets or a plate to support the compressor onto the frame, just make sure you watch out for wiring that travels along the other side of the frame so you don’t pinch or damage anything. And, as Robin said, you can leave an access port (hose) accessible, to pump both springs at the same time manually in case your compressor fails (which it shouldn’t), and I ran mine to the license plate. I did a Y formation for that so both are equally inflated at all times. I would also highly recommend adding a fuse block off the main battery, and use that for your power supply on the compressor. That way you’re running directly from the battery with its own fuse and it’s separate from your vehicle fuse box. I even added a remote on/off switch controlled from inside the cab, so I know it’s off when not in use. Not needed but a nice touch! My experience with e-trailer and Air Lift has been 100% positive. I tow a 5th wheel. I never had a failure or a malfunction either. Just follow the instructions and you can’t go wrong. The tech support at e-trailer is second to none! You may pay a few bucks more at times, but you’re also getting top tier support. That’s worth a lot! Good luck!
