If I install the 40A WF46FR now and upgrade to lithium next year, will I need to replace it again?

Hey Daniel! That’s one of the benefits of these newer WFCO Auto-Detect panels. You won't need to replace anything again since they are compatible with lithium.
The new models like # WF46FR, # WF86FR, and # WFC72GR all automatically detect lithium batteries and apply the proper charging profile. No switches or internal settings required.
If you’re planning a larger bank 200Ah+, you may eventually wish you had gone with the 55A model for faster recovery - but functionally, the 40A unit will still work correctly.
How large of a lithium bank are you considering?
