Features to know about

Built for Real Highway Miles: Load Range D with N Speed Rating (87 mph)

If you haul long distances, you need a setup that keeps up with traffic and heat. The Kenda Karrier KR53 ST205/75R14 radial tire is an 8-ply Load Range D rated design carrying 2,200 lbs at 65 psi. With its N speed rating of 87 mph, it’s built to handle sustained highway use without losing composure. The computer-optimized tread and premium rubber compound provide confident traction in wet or dry conditions, all while meeting DOT specifications.

Corrosion Protection That Lasts: Silver Powder-Coated Steel Wheel

Salt air, humidity, and road grime can wreck unprotected wheels fast. This 14" x 5-1/2" steel modular wheel uses a two-step finish—an e-coat primer followed by a silver powder coat. That combo locks out moisture and corrosion so the wheel stays clean and solid through seasons of use.

Ready to Mount and Go: Pre-Assembled Tire-and-Wheel Combo

No shop trip or mounting fees needed here. The tire comes pre-mounted on the steel wheel and aired to proper pressure right out of the box. It’s balanced in the way trailer tires are built—where the factory matches the high spot of the tire to the low spot of the wheel for smooth towing performance without machine balancing.

Strong Where It Matters: Durable Sidewalls and Smart Radial Design

The KR53 radial has reinforced sidewalls engineered for durability and resistance to ozone exposure. Its lighter construction also helps improve fuel economy on longer trips while keeping your load stable at speed. The wide tread pattern delivers a surefooted feel that holds steady mile after mile.

Fitment Confidence: 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern with 3.19" Pilot Diameter

The assembly uses a common 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, a 3.19" pilot diameter, and 1/2"-20 wheel bolts for straightforward fitment across typical trailer hubs. Knowing those exact specs takes the guesswork out of matching your setup so you can bolt it on and get rolling right away.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Video Transcript for Kenda Trailer Tires: Insider Insights from the Manufacturer

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here from etrailer and today I'm at N.A.T.M. And this convention brings a lot of the vendors that we have at etrailer to a convention where we have their booths and their products set up. I had a chance to catch up with quite a few of them. So let's take a look at their products a little bit up close and ask some of the questions to those vendors about their products. I'm here with Dave from Kenda. And Dave, what is Kenda Yeah, Kenda is a global tire company, right We have operations around the world and we're in a lot of different categories from automotive to light truck, lawn and garden, bicycle, specialty tires, power sports.

So Kenda really is involved in several different categories as a tire manufacturer, which is really unique for us in the marketplace. So if you cover that wide of spectrum, obviously you guys have tires nailed down and the same goes for trailer tires. Yeah. Yes sir. You know the nice part about it is collaboration of engineering, right So you know what we learn from an automotive design as it relates and what attributes are more beneficial in a trailer application, a more ST, specific tire, and we can learn from one another and our engineering staff a lot of collaboration and conversations.

Sure. Absolutely So taking a look at some of your trailer tires, what do we have today Well, you know, one of the key ones I think most recently, which is gonna be an etrailer very, very soon is our KR53. It's relatively new design, it's been a little bit on the market and we've got some history in market. Very good performance. And when you think about tires, you know you have a choice as a consumer, right In just about everything.

Good, better, best, right So this really fits in the probably good category, economically price position, but the integrity and the quality of it is still there at sort of a premium level. So the value for money that you get is very strong. You know, we use a lot of the same, you know, compounding core structure, design, profile, those are all things that are really just a little bit slightly de tuned from a premium sector. But I think it gives the consumer and neighbors a little bit of a choice in how they actually use their trailer at the end of the day. That makes sense.

So you get all the same safety qualities and confidence you get with the tire, but it's more catered to someone that doesn't maybe use their trailer every day for work. That's correct. You look at maybe the difference in tread depths, right You're not using it on road on long distances. This might be a little bit better suited for you. So not only do you offer tires, but you also offer an assembly which is wheel and tire combo Dave Yeah, and I think that's a really a kinda advantage to be truthful, right So you know, our technical center in North America is in Canton, Ohio, right Epicenter of tires, right And we design, we engineer, R&D, research and then we produce in our own factories, right Nothing is outsourced, it's all internal. So we control that through the entire process and then we take it one step further into the assembly process, right So we look at it as a Kenda advantage, we can control it all the way through, which provides a lot of inherent advantages. And I think that's 'cause we're thinking of every aspect along the way is how it comes together as a total assembly package on an OE application on a trailer or in the aftermarket sold through etrailer. And that's great too because instead of having to take your wheel and get your tire mounted, you can get it all one go take your lug nuts off, swap it and you're ready to rock. Absolutely. Yep. And cool designs too. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. If you want to add a little bit of, you know, eye candy to your trailer, anytime you have something cool on your trailer, you wanna make the trailer look cool as well. Lots of cool wheel offerings. So you can really customize that trailer, give it the look you want. So taking a look at this, this looks like more of a all trainer mud tire, but this is a trailer tire. Dave Well you're getting smarter and smarter learning a lot tires. Yes, it is a mud tire design and aesthetically pleasing to give that off-road look and feel in a trailer application. Inherited advantages. You know, it's not a drive tire, right So you're still gonna have some traction benefits and also when you're in a off-road situation or outback or where you might be traveling, you know the thickness of the tread, you're still gonna run into sticks. You're still gonna run into stones and boulders and rocks. So the sidewall design helps in protection 'cause obviously you want to get out into that environment but you also want to get back. That's right. So that's the difference. That makes sense. And that's where, yeah, you overlanders out there, I've seen plenty of the trailer setups and predominantly you're gonna see tires like this and you're a hundred percent right, you're gonna be off-roading in your truck and those are the drive tires that'll see the abuse. But this is getting pulled behind it. You wanna protect it all the same. It doesn't look bad either if your trailer tires match your truck tires. Not at all. Again, going back to having choices of wheels, tires say a lot to me because there are some patterns that really just stand out. This is absolutely one of them. Huge thanks to Dave from Kenda taking the time to kinda break down some of the trailer tires and combos of wheels that you offer. Thank you very much. Oh, thank you. I mean the more we can help educate and promote, you know, tire, tire safety and what's good for your neighbors, we're here for you. Ask anytime, we appreciate the opportunity for you to be with us today. Thank you. Thank you very much.

by:

Service and shipping was great fit my trailer perfect would recommend etrailer to anyone

by:

Quick shipping response time, free shipping and great quality tire. I'll be back.

by:

Everything looks good so far. Arrived intact. Good packaging installed a couple of days ago on my 16’ trailer, but have not road tested yet. I am somewhat disappointed that the date codes on the tires show that they were made the 13th week of 2025, so the tires are already over a year old. But, if these tires last as long as my old tires this will not be an issue. My old tires were made in 1999.

by:

Sipped in boxes. Wanted d rating over the c rating that came with trailer. Rims look nice too.

by:

Fit great. Kenda really makes some good tires for the price. Way better then no name brands. The rim is also of high quality.

by:

Great Tires. Solid and easy to install. The rims were a different color than pictured. Not a problem.

This may be the first review I've ever written, but the service I received deserves recognition. I couldn't be happier with the customer support. Every question I had was answered promptly and thoroughly, and I was always told exactly what to expect. After each conversation, I immediately received an email with the products I had inquired about or ordered, making the process incredibly easy.
I ordered new tires, electric brakes, brake drums, and mirror extensions, and every item was exactly what I needed. It's rare to find a company that does exactly what they say they will do, follows through without any issues, and provides this level of customer service. To make things even better, I received my order the very next day.
Outstanding service from start to finish. Because of this experience, they will be my first call for any future RV or trailer needs. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for knowledgeable staff, great communication, and fast, reliable service.

  • Replacement Tire and Wheel Combo for Travel Trailer with 7.00-14LT
Hey Nick, the closest modern tire size to the 7.00 x 14 size on your Grandparents trailer would be a ST205/75-14. A great value tire in that size is the part # KE65EV which is a radial tire with a 2,200-lb max load at 65 psi and has a higher speed rating of 81 mph. How old is the travel trailer?

  • Do Trailer Tire And Wheel Combos Come Balanced?
Hello Dave, thanks for reaching out. All of the trailer tires we sell come balanced in the manner that trailer tires are balanced. Every tire and every wheel has a high (heavy) and low (light) spot. The manufacturers offset the high spot on the tire with the low spot on the wheel to balance them. They are not spun on a machine like car tires. That being said, some people do still take them to a shop and have them balanced. This is more out of an abundance of caution and safety than anything....

  • Spare Wheel and Tire Recommendation for 2021 Jayce Jayflight SLX 265RLS
Hey Sebastian, for a spare wheel and tire in the size you need I would recommend the Kenda Karrier KR53 ST205/75R14 part # KE65EV. This is our best priced wheel and tire combo that comes with a radial tire like what you have now so it would be what I would go with as it will do the job of being a spare at the best price.

  • Does the Kenda Karrier KR53 part # KE65EV Come with the Tire on the Wheel?
Hi Nate, The quick answer to your question is yes! All our tire and wheel combinations come with the tire mounted on the wheel so they're ready to go! They are also aired up to the correct pressure before shipping and are balanced straight from the factory so you can install them right away. + The Kenda Karrier KR53 part # KE65EV has a max load capacity at 2,200lbs at 65 psi, a speed rating up to 87 mph, and a powder-coated steel wheel to protect from rust making them an excellent choice....

  • Are Powder Coat Trailer Wheels Good for a Saltwater Boat Trailer ST205/75R14
Hey Dave, for a saltwater boat trailer, powder-coated wheels wouldn't be my first choice, but they can still last quite a while if you're good about rinsing them thoroughly after each launch and sealing any chips or cracks in the finish as soon as they appear. Saltwater is tough on any steel wheel once the protective coating is compromised. If you're specifically looking for the best corrosion resistance for a trailer that sees saltwater regularly, I'd actually recommend aluminum wheels....
