Question:
My trailer is about 5-1/2 feet wide and sits fairly low to the ground. Do I really need the 6-foot ramps, or would the 5-foot kit work? Might load car and other equipment.

Good morning Brandon.
With a trailer in the 5 - 6-1/2 foot width range, your options are RapidRamps kit # e37XV (5 foot ramps) or # e47XV (6 foot ramps). Since your trailer sits lower to the ground, the 5 foot RapidRamps # e37XV can work very well and gives you a more compact setup behind the trailer.
The 6 foot version does add a gentler angle, but it’s not always necessary on lower decks. If space behind the trailer is tight or you want to keep things shorter, # e37XV is a solid choice.
If you are really worried about scraping with some lower clearance vehicles like a sports car or zero turn mower, then I'd definitely opt for the longer option # e47XV.
