Updated 02/11/2026 | Published 12/22/2025

Question:

I have a 2025 Lexus TX550h with tire size 255/45r22. Im looking for tire cable chains for snow. The owners manual says to use snow tires, but thats not practical. I cant find and snow chains that fit this tire size.

Hi James!

I do have a tire chain that will fit the 255/45R22 tires on your new 2025 Lexus TX550h, but I could not find anyone that carries cables that will fit, unfortunately. So with that said, you will want the following chains:

Konig K-Summit Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - Assisted Tensioning - 1 Pair # TH02230K77

I just confirmed with Konig and these will fit your tires. They also offer significantly better traction than cables. These are also the chains we recommend when a manufacturer says you cannot use chains. That is typically due to clearance issues above and behind the tire. These chains account for both. There is absolutely nothing that will go around to the back side of the tire and the Class S rating means they are designed for vehicles with low wheel well clearance. I know they are expensive, but they are your best option.

Are you going to be traveling through the mountains?

Hey James, how did the Konig K-Summit chains work out on your Lexus TX550h? Were they easy to use and give you the traction you needed in the snow? Your experience could help others with the same tire size.

Lazer, I just got the same car, 2026 Lexus TX 500H. It has low clearance tires 255/45R22. I checked the snow chains model you recommended above, but it doesn't list this particular tire size in chain specs.

@YuliaB Our fit-guide can be a little weird with what it recommends and doesn't recommend every now and then, especially with this fairly unique tire size (though it is starting to pop up more so hopefully we can get our system updated). I went straight to Konig to verify the fit for this specific tire and vehicle set up, so I am confident in the recommendation.
