Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for 2025 GMC Sierra 2500 Towing 2021 Jayco North Point 310RLTS

Updated 12/18/2025 | Published 12/14/2025

Question:

I have a 2025 GMC 2500HD with puck system. I am looking to pull a 2021 Jayco Northpoint 310rlts. The bed is the standard bed. Would you recommend a sliding or fix hitch. Can you recommend a hitch?

Hey Brent! I do recommend using a slider to make sure you have clearance on those turns. The only exception is if you have a rotating pin box. If you don't mind a manual slider where you have to get out and engage the lever the best option is the B&W Companion # BWRVK3775.

If you want an auto-slide then I recommend the PullRite SuperGlide # PUL83RR. This will also require a capture plate so you will need to identify your pin box to choose the right one. If you can send me the serial number off your pin box I would be happy to identify it for you through Lippert.

If you happen to have a rotating pin box on there already then the B&W Companion # BWRVK3710 (the fixed version) is once again the best option. All of these will fit the puck system on your 2025 GMC Sierra 2500.

Where are you headed with the Jayco North Point?

I have the B&W slider hitch and don’t use the slider often, BUT, the times I did it saved the day and damage to the truck and trailer. I will say, if you “think” you may need it, use it, don’t wait it won’t hurt to use it.

Hey Brent, I have had both of the hitches discussed by Robin. I purchased the Pullrite from Camping World and they installed it for me. It was quite a bit more $ but I was sold on the idea that it automatically slides. It does make some unusual clunky noises when turning sharply and then beginning to accelerate. When I upgraded to a bigger camper, and a new GMC, the old Pullrite would not fit in the OEM mounts of the GMC. I decided to purchase the B&W Companion manual slider. Honestly, I have only released the slider one time and I am not sure I even needed the slider. You can do the measurements on you truck and camper to get an idea how close the camper overhang comes to the truck cab, but that does not take into consideration if you end up in an unusually tight spot and the truck and camper are not on level ground. The number of times you will need it may be zero, but if it is just once you'll be glad you have it. Also, the slider hitch is VERY heavy. I never removed it from my truck bed. The B&W slider with the manual release is much lighter and I can remove it when I am not using the camper. Hope this information is helpful.

I agree the slider hitch should be recommended for a standard box truck. However, some fifth wheels have an extended pin box making the slider unnecessary. For my fifth wheel I definitely need the slider. The other drawback with the slider is its weight I use a handtruck with ramps to get the base into the truck. As I age, this method will need to changed.

Have you tried leaving the hitch latched to the pin box and then removing the pins and extending the landing gear? On most hitches the is a lock feature preventing theft.

I have 2022 same truck, I have B&W slider which I highly recommend. In some tight turn parking in spots, it has saved the day and the cab of my truck. Would get slider even if you don't use it, better to have and not than damage truck.

I have a 2023 Chevrolet 2500 towing a 2021 35ft Montana High Country and got the B&W Slider hitch. It was very easy to install (with the help of my strong son-in-law as it is a heavy hitch) and while I haven't had to use the slider often, it is great to have when I needed it. Very sturdy and reliable hitch.
