How Much Does The Benton Basic Hitch Cargo Carrier Stick Out Behind The Vehicle?

Question:
I park in a tight city garage. How far does this stick out when folded up?

Expert Reply:
Derrick, when folded, the Benton cargo rack # B42FR has a shank that sits about 18-1/2 inch behind the hitch pin of your vehicle's hitch receiver. This will be the furthest point out when folded up. The rack, when folded down, will extend out about 54" from the hitch pin hole, but the shank at 18-1/2" will be the lowest part of the assembly.
And if you’re carrying accessories that make the setup feel too wide, you can mount some items front-to-back on the fixed bars to keep the overall footprint narrower when maneuvering into tight spaces. It is super user friendly and versatile, ideal for lots of different setups with various accessories added on!
What do you plan to use it for? I've even seen a small dresser or cabinet hauled on one of these as seen in the attached photo.
