Can SmartPlug Connector Plug Assembly for RV Power Cords SM36FR Work with 30 Amp Cable
Updated 12/29/2025 | Published 12/04/2025 >
Question:
I want to create a power cord with 50 Amp Female Connector using this par to connect to the trailer and 30 amp male connector to plug into the power box. This way I can have a lighter weight cord for most uses. Does this connector have that capability? Is that what is meant by 12o volt cord. Thank you. Is it possible to get a copy of the instructions that come with this part?

Hey Richard, this would be powering a 50 amp camper off 30 amps, so this would be less amperage not more. However plugging into 30 amps means half of their panel gets zero power, and the other half gets 30 amps instead of 50, so you should stick with a 50 amp cord and outlet at campground if at all possible.
