I need to know if the kit can be customized down to fit a 7 ft. trailer I have and extremely heavy door so I need the 230 lb. rating.

Hey Paul, thanks for reaching out. The Conventional Ramp Door Spring # M386FR is really only for 8' wide trailers, but we do offer more customizable option for 7' doors. Take a look at the following:
- Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 8' Wide Enclosed Trailer - Dual Spring - 250-lb Capacity # CB250D96SHD
This can fit doors between 76" and 96" wide. The spring capacity is 250 lbs so it can work even with very heavy doors.
