Will the BAKFlip F1 Hard Tonneau Cover Block the Ramboxes on a 2026 Ram 2500 w/a 6-1/2' Bed?

Updated 11/20/2025 | Published 11/18/2025

Question:

2026 RAM 2500 Limited with Ramboxes. I was wondering if this tonneau cover will use the existing rail in the bed of the truck, similar to the install method that was shown in the video for the BAKflip G2 cover? I attached a picture of the factory rail Im taking about. Will the RAMboxes still open when the tonneau cover is fully covering the bed? Thanks

Yes, it will Bill and congrats on the new truck! The BAKFlip F1 Hard Tonneau Cover item # BAK72203RB is going to have an identical installation method to the BAKFlip G2 item # BAK26203RB you referenced. It will attach directly to the track inside the bed with included hardware. The cover will not obstruct the RamBoxes from opening in anyway on your 2026 Ram 2500.

What kind of gear do you haul in the bed of your truck?

Thanks. I'm trying to decide between the G2, F1 and MX covers. I've read and seen videos about the panels becoming waterlogged and heavy over time. Have you seen issues with this? I like the quad fold design of the BAKflips, but we get a lot of rain here on the Oregon coast so water infiltration is an issue. Has Bakflip addressed these complaints?

@BillW You're welcome! All three of those covers have drains and gutter systems but the BAKFlip MX4 Hard Tonneau Cover item # BAK48203RB is going to be the best for keeping water out. We've heard about the channel pushing water into the rear section on the BAKFlip F1 item # BAK72203RB and G2 item # BAK26203RB. Some of them sound like installation issues with the seals.

@JerredH Thank you. That's one I'm leaning towards.

@BillW You're welcome! I linked an installation video below we did on the BAKFlip MX4 Hard Tonneau Cover item # BAK48203RB. It's on a 2013 Ram but you'll be able to see the process and know what to expect.
