Can 7k Brake Assemblies be Used in a 6k Trailer Drum

Question:
I have been checking out your Dexter Electric Brake Assemblies. I was wondering if I could use a 7000 assembly with a 6000 lb. drum because I already have a 6000 lb. drum and wheels. 6 on 5.5 Thanks

Hey Steve, yes you can use a 7k brake assembly set like the part # 23-464-465 in a 6k drum as they are virtually identical with only difference being magnet strength. The 7k has a more sensitive magnet which will make it a little harder to dial in exact amount of braking pressure you want but it will still work just fine.
