Updated 11/12/2025 | Published 11/09/2025

Question:

Greetings, I have a 2000 Ford F350 HD with a 12 bed. The center of axle to end of bed is 5-6 66 inches. The bed is 8 feet wide. Im looking for a gooseneck hitch and placement position. I have welding and fab skills if that assists with best option. Thank you for your time! -Eric

Hi Eric; the 2000 Ford F-350 HD is going to be the same as the Super Duty. Gooseneck hitch placement is going to be in the same general area but is specific to the hitch brand. If you want to use the B&W Turnoverball the # BWGNRK1108 is the correct kit for your truck. You won't need to do any kind of welding or fabricating for installation. If you're trying to do something else let me know in the comments below.

Thank you for your response and recommendation. It sounds like the ball would be about 18" past the axle center line if I use the 47" end of truck offset as noted in the attached instructions. Is that a normal condition? Eric

@Eric I would say B&W knows what they're talking about. Assuming you have the standard truck bed on there and you drop the tape measure over the end of the truck box and mark the floor at 47" that is the correct placement for the hole for this Turnoverball. I looked at the Curt earlier and it was the same measurement for the long bed, different for the short bed. Follow whatever the specific hitch you're installing says to do in the instructions. I'm not sure what you're doing exactly, even if you're trying to weld in some kind of hitch like the # BWGNRK1500 there should be instructions with it explaining placement.
