How To Power Furrion Vision S In Chevy Silverado 2500 With No 12V Outlet

Updated 12/02/2025 | Published 11/04/2025

Question:

I have a furrion vision s 4.3 backup camera. I bought a new truck Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and it no longer includes the traditional 12-volt cigarette lighter to power legacy 12V accessories. Do you sell a USB-C or 120 AC adapter to power the camera? Ive tried a USC to 12-volt cigarette adapter and it doesnt seem to keep sufficient power. Could also be defective amazon crap. Thanks

Hi Kyle; we don't carry an adapters but what you can do is install the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332. This ensures constant, reliable power for the camera system. It gets harder and harder to trust those adapters as random companies continue to push them out with less than desirable quality.

Hey Kyle, how did things go after adding the Roadmaster 12-volt outlet kit to power your Furrion Vision S camera? Your update could make it easier for others running into the same issue with newer trucks.

@RobinH - I appreciate the response and support. Ultimately, I went a different direction and ordered a Furrion Vision S+ camera (FR57AD) which appears to support USB-C connectivity to power the unit.

@Kyle the Vision S+ # FR57AD is definitely another good solution. I would try to sell the old camera system to cover some of the cost.
