Question:
I have a tandem-axle camper with Dexter Tow Assist, need to check axle tag if it's 3,500 lbs and the other 4,400 lbs. Are the 10inch ABS brakes the same?

Good eye, Brian - both the 3.5K # DX73WR and 4.4K # DX83WR Tow Assist brakes are 10 inch x 2-1/4 inch, but they’re not interchangeable. The 3.5K version uses different mounting offsets and lighter components for smaller spindles, while the 4.4K version fits a heavier hub and uses a slightly different bearings.
If one axle tag shows 3,500 and the other 4,400, replace each axle with the matching rated assembly so the ABS sensors read correctly.
Are you planning to replace all four at once, or just service one axle right now?

Thanks, Andrew. I pulled the tags again and looks like both axles are actually 3,500 lbs after all - must’ve misread the first one. Glad to know they match now. I’ll be ordering the #DX73WR assemblies for both axles.
