Question:

BDW87QB is this bulldog interupt solenoid 600 amps continuous or is that 600 amp peak?

Helpful Expert Reply:

The Bulldog Winch solenoid part # BDW87QB is rated at 600 amps intermittent, not continuous. That means it can handle up to 600 amps for short periods of time, such as when powering a winch or high-draw accessory, but it’s not designed to carry that load continuously. It’s considered an intermittent-duty solenoid, so for long-term or constant high-amp use, a continuous-duty model would be a better fit.

If you let me know what you are trying to accomplish, I may be able to assist better.

Hey, did the 600-amp intermittent rating on the Bulldog Winch solenoid end up meeting your needs? Knowing how it performed could help others decide if it’s the right option for their setup.

@HeatherA No. I did not purchase because it was not a continuos 600 amp usage solenoid. I needed one to run a winch with up to 420 amp continuos at fully loaded draw. I did not feel this 600 amp short burst solenoid would hold up to my abuse. Thanks Heather you did well with the information i needed. Have a great day Tony D.
