How To Prevent Motorhome And Toad From Moving In Wind - 2021 Forest River FR3
Published 10/07/2025 >
Question:
Will this stabilizer help if I tow a small car about 3,500 lbs behind my 2021 Forest River FR3? It already handles ok but gets twitchy in wind.

Expert Reply:
Melissa, absolutely. Towing adds a bit of push-pull on the front end of the coach, and the Safe-T-Plus # ST88MR counteracts that. It’ll keep the FR3 tracking straight through wind gusts or the bow wave when a big rig passes.
Just make sure the tow bar setup and hitch height are dialed in, because even a few degrees of angle can transfer weight forward. After that, the stabilizer will handle the rest.
Do you already have any sway bars installed? That info helps us see the full picture for ride comfort.
