Air Force One Brake System Causing Brakes To Lock Up On Towed Vehicle

Question:
Coach is a 2017 Tiffan 45 OP, and tow vehicle is a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. Air Force One braking system was installed the date of purchase of the coach on August 4th, 2017 and the vehichle at the time of install was a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk. That was changed to the Grand Cherokee Summit on or about Feb/March of 2020. The problem, as diagnosed by our dealer ship in Hilton Head is that the braking system when applied has been locking up instead of applying the brakes in a proportional application. This has resulted in over heating causing rubber casings boots to melt and loose axel grease in addition to overheating the disc brakes. My question is this: have you experienced situations like this with other Air Force One systems?

Hello Michael. This is not a common issue with the Demco Air Force One braking system. I just spoke with my contact at Demco and they are not familiar with this issue either. It is especially perplexing since the Air Force One system does not have a gain setting and the braking pressure should be proportional to the brakes on the coach. My contact at Demco asked that you call them directly so their techs can help you troubleshoot over the phone while you are there with the coach. You can reach Demco at 574-218-6363.

Jessie: I attempted to contact Demco at 574-218- 6363 which is the number you gave me in your much appreciated response. But it turned out to be a # for Gen-Y-Hitch. Can you provide me the Demco # and who I should ask for there? Thanks so much for your assistance in this matter.

Jesse: Thanks so much for your response. I appreciate it. I will be contacting Demco as soon as I get my Jeep back from the dealership who is fixing the issue by replacing the brakes and axel. Not an inexpensive fix.
