The Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System - Proportional # BLU37TR, uses a 12V powered remote that wirelessly connects to the 12V powered braking unit. This wireless remote has an inertia-based sensor in it that can sense the braking of the towing vehicle and communicates that braking need to the towed vehicle. The remote also give you a manual override feature like brake controllers do to allow you to apply the brakes in the towed vehicle as you determine necessary. It also has a light indicator so you know when the brakes are being applied on your towed vehicle from the cabin of your towing vehicle.
This is one of the easiest systems to use and we have had many happy customers using this product because there is no false braking.
I've attached an article to help with supplemental braking systems. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Good morning Jason, Have Patriott II model BRK2016 that was purchased 12/9/2018. Serial #161494 from etrailer.Using it on a 2012 Honda Fit. How do I know when the Patriot engages. I have no indication on the 2-Way RF In-Coach controller triangle screen that indicates any braking activity during driving. Setup and cycling works perfect. Intenstity in coach is set on two.Should I see a process bar inside the triangle showing the intensity of breaking? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Cheers,

Does all the sensing to activate the blue ox breaking happen in the floor mount mechanism or is it derived from the sensor on the coach wireless module?
