Hi Kevin!

Though Reese has been around for a long time and people swear by them, between Reese and B&W 5th wheel hitches, I will always recommend B&W. The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 25,000 lbs # BWRVK3715 is the better choice. Not only is the # BWRVK3715 rated higher than the # RP26FR, but it is also American made and, from my experiences, built sturdier.

Don't take this as me bashing Reese though. I prefer their weight distribution systems over just about everyone else's and their brake controllers (under the Tekonsha name) are second to none. I just very much prefer the B&W 5th wheel hitches. They rock.

What kind of trailer/camper will you be towing?

Laser, Sorry I forgot to tell you that I am towing a 2008 KZ Escalade (17000lb) that’s built to live in. We lived in it for 15yrs. I’ve finally got a new truck that can handle it. We will be towing more. I had a Reese hitch in the old truck (2004) 2500hd. Upon further measurements I will have to go with the Reese, it goes to lower dimension (14”) that’s what I need to be level. I was leaning towards the B&W until I measured it out. Thank you for all your help Kevin GMC 3500hd DRW long box

@Kevin 15 years?! That's pretty awesome. Good thing your camper is a nice one. : ) And that makes sense. The B&W is definitely taller than the Reese. Just make sure to keep it clean and oiled up and you will get plenty of life out of it. Their hitches are nothing to shake a stick at. : P
