Does the Soft Start Kit for Coleman-Mach RV Air Conditioners Help Running Amp Draw Too?

Question:

Does the A/C soft start only help lower the amp draw during start up or does it also lower the running amps? If my A/C is running and I try to use my microwave, it will trip the breaker.

Hey Richard. Like the name says, the Soft Start Kit for Coleman-Mach RV Air Conditioners item # CM56RR only helps on start up. The rest of the time your AC is running it will be pulling the standard amount of amps depending on what model you have.

So if you're tripping your breaker now using your microwave while your AC is running you're still going to trip it.

What AC make and model do you have?
