Question:
We run a small inverter generator with our Jayco Jay Flight when boondocking. Will the HU72VR give errors with that?

Alan, that’s a great question. Yes, the Watchdog Surge Protector # HU72VR works fine with generators, but you may see open neutral or open ground codes if your generator has a “floating neutral.” That’s not the Watchdog malfunctioning - it’s protecting your rig. The fix is the Hughes Ground Neutral Bonded Plug # HU33FR. Just plug that into an unused outlet on the generator, and it bonds the neutral and ground properly. (you may not need this, but figured I'd mention it)
Do you plan to use the Watchdog full-time with the generator, or mainly when on shore power?
Also keep in mind this surge protector gets hardwired into the RV power cord right before it goes into your power box.
