I am looking for hitch options to fire draw tire rails. Could you sell me models available that will fit these rails? Thanks

Hello Dave,

My mother always told me to never assume, but since she isn’t here right now, I’m going to assume you mean the Draw-Tite/Reese 5th wheel rails. The great news is that Reese rails use the industry standard pattern, so there are a lot of hitches that will fit them.

The Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs # RP30047 you were looking at is a solid choice. If you’d like to invest a little more, my personal favorite is the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 18,000 lbs # BWRVK3255. B&W hitches are made in the USA, backed by incredible customer service, and built to last, a true win-win.

If your truck has a 6 3/4' bed, I recommend going with a sliding hitch to ensure you have enough clearance for tight turns.

What bed size is your truck, and how much does your camper weigh? That way we can make sure you get the best fit.

Hey Dave, did you have a chance to check the bed size of your truck and the weight of your camper? I'm asking because I want to make sure you get the best hitch fit for your setup.

@KateF It’s a 6 1/2’ bed Silverado. My old hitch was a Draw tight 16k LB double jaw. I was able to back into it without locking it open First. My 5th wheel was only 26’ and the only issue I ever had with that one was trying to pull out at a 90 degree angle uphill. The camper rubbed the bed. I was blocked in and only had one way to go. I don’t have the camper yet, but it will be another small one. Especially since the new ones have slides. More than enough room for us and they are lightweight and pull very easy.

@DaveB What is nice about the new campers too is that they are making it to where the noses are more tapered, so you have more clearance for turning as well. Yes, the new campers with the slides are super nice! Awesome how roomy they are. Thanks for responding Dave! Hope you are able to get a camper soon so you can get on the road to adventure.
