What Leaf Springs do I Need for My 2015 Keystone Hideout 27 DBS with 3,500 Pound Axles?

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 09/14/2025

Question:

I have a 2015 Keystone hideout 27 DBS travel trailer It has 3500 lb Dexter axles on it. I assume that means I need 1750 lb leaf springs The leaf springs on it are four leaves 1 and 3/4 wide 5/16 thick leaves but they measure is 26 in eye to eye on the trailer with some load on them of course. The only one I see on your product list is 25 1/4 eye to eye

Hello William,

Thanks so much for all the useful information! You mentioned that your measurement eye to eye is 26" long, but since you measured it with weight on the trailer, that measurement isn’t the most accurate, weight causes the springs to flatten out quite a bit. And even if you were to take all the weight off, your measurement would still come out longer than the correct size, since leaf springs naturally flatten over time.

Since you have a 3,500 lb axle and your measurement was 26", the correct fit is the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/4" Long # e54SR. The good news is that’s exactly the one you already ordered.

You should have received the springs by now, how did they fit? Were you able to get them installed yet?

Hey William, I'm glad you received the springs! How did they fit on your trailer? Were you able to get them installed yet? I'm asking because your experience could help others in a similar situation.
