Is there a manual override?

Hey Jacqueline!
The Dexter Self-Contained Hydraulic Jack # DX72CR manual didn't have anything in it about a manual override, but in looking at the photos, the rubber plug on top of the cover should be where the manual override is located. Try removing the plug and seeing if there is something there that you can fit a socket around.
Let me know what you find either way! I'm interested in figuring this out as well!
