Question:

Hi, I am trying to confirm the lug pattern on the Loadstar ST175/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with 13 White Wheel - 4 on 4, my wheels are 4 lug and measure 4 1/2 on cl across, cl to two next to each other is 3 1/8 - will these work? Do I have some odd type wheel?

Hi William; if I had to guess you have an older trailer. 4 on 4-1/2 is a valid bolt pattern but it is not very common and typically found on vintage cars/trailers. We don't carry any wheels that will fit that hub. The # AM3S120 and others we have only work with 4 on 4.

If you can't find any wheels that match, the best thing to do would be to swap out the hubs so you can use wheels with the common 4 on 4 bolt pattern. Hopefully it is a common bearing combination so a hub swap is a simple task and you don't need a new axle. If you can let me know what bearings you have I can see if a hub is available.

@William I was afraid of that. Unfortunately, none of the hubs we carry use that bearing combination. I'm sure it is obsolete. I would try to find some wheels with a 4 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern before looking for a new axle. If you want to swap out the axle you will need the hub face measurement (length) and capacity to match what you currently have.

@RobinH - Hi, After doing some additional research I could likely use one of the hubs you have, my current hub has an overall dimension of 4 1/4" and is 3" to hub face, I have enough room in the wheelwell that the hub face could be +/- but to avoid any sort of shimming on either side I would need the overall length of 4 1/4, none of the hubs show what that dimension is and I went through many of the questions and didn't see. The inner bearing L68149 works, the outer bearing shown on many is a L44649, it is too large but I can get a different bearing that works with the race for that bearing. Can you check or verify if you have a hub with an overall length of 4 1/14 in the hubs that have the L68149/L44649 bearing combo? Thanks,

@William I don't have that spec for all of those hubs. I could try to measure some but you still have the problem of the L44649 bearing which doesn't have an alternative on those. If you want to try to go that route without swapping the axle you would be better off swapping out the spindle for # TRU77FR or # TRU74FR so it matches.
