Brake Controller Recommendation for Dump Trailer with Battery

Question:
Hello, I have a dump trailer with electric brakes. I would like to use the brakes when hauling a heavy load of wood when coming down a hill in the woods. I have a battery on the trailer I could power the controller with from the 7 way male plug. Tractor has no brake light switch. I saw a video where you had some wireless ones. Can you advise me on what would be the best not so permenant way to do this? It would be outdoors. I would like to have it portable and just plug into the trailer plug. Thank

Hey Wayne, best solution for you would probably be a wireless brake controller like the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 which you would need to power from your trailer battery directly on the 1:00 pin of the 7-way. With just this and the stoplight circuits active on your 7-way this will work great to stop the trailer. You will have to use a smart phone to program it and control it but once you get the settings dialed the phone would not need to be out as it will work off of the most recent settings.
