Published 08/12/2025

Question:

I have a 2025 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. The length of my truck bed is 6 foot 8 1/2 inches. Can you tell me what TracRac rails I need for my truck?

Hey Jason, thanks for reaching out!

The rails for the Thule TracRac SR # TH44RE that fits your 2025 GMC Sierra 2500 with the 6-3/4' bed is part # TH33JV on our site.

I see you recently purchased the TracRac SR # TH43002XT-780EX for a long bed truck; are you planning on moving the ladder rack uprights between trucks for different uses?

Thank you for your reply Jon. I was only planning on using the rac for my 2500 GMC w/ 6-3/4’ bed. I believe I can still use the uprights. I just returned the rails. Hoping not to have to return the aluminum uprights and cantilever. Please let me know if any compatibility issues you might know of. Ultimately, if I have to return the entire rack for another, I’m fine with it. I just really want the tracrac SR. I want the ability to keep the rails on and slide the racks off. Please let me know what you think. Thanks again for your input. It’s very helpful.

@JasonA Makes sense! Yes, the top parts will still be compatible with the smaller base rails. You'll need to remove the "safety" bolts at the back of the base rails to remove the uprights, but those are fairly easy to remove so you can take the uprights off the base rails whenever you'd like to.
