Question:
I have a 2024 Keystone Cougar Half-Ton 29BHS, and the brakes are starting to chatter on downhill grades. Are these the right replacements for my trailer?

Brian, yes, these Lippert # LC73PX 10" electric brake assemblies are a factory-match for the Lippert 3,500-lb axles used on your 2024 Cougar Half-Ton. Since your trailer came equipped with Lippert’s ABS hub system, these brakes will bolt right on and plug into your existing wiring without any special setup. They're self-adjusting too, so once installed and bedded in, you won’t need to crawl under the trailer every few months for manual tweaks. How are you liking the Anti Lock Braking System?
If the chattering you're hearing is from worn pads or heat glazing, this swap should restore smooth, confident braking. Want to check your hubs too? The matching ABS-compatible drums would be part # LC44PX if you have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, or # LC24PX for 6-lug wheels. Let me know if you want help confirming which hub version you’ve got, we can figure it out by axle tag or measuring distance between the wheel bolts.
Out of curiosity, when did the brake clatter start, and how many miles have you put on the rig? Being a 2024, that seems pretty early to be replacing these stout brakes from Lippert unless you tow year round. Let me know!
