Recommended Equalizer for a Tandem Axle Trailer w/ Two 3,500 lbs Axles

Hello, Looking into Lippert Equa-flex equalizer but it states 5-8k ranging? I have a 2020 Winnie Mini 2500fl which is a 7k combined axle ranging. So is this kit too heavy for my trailer?

Hey Michael. The 5K to 8K Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers item # LC145546 will work perfectly with your two 3,500 lbs axles. The 7,000 lbs combined rating would put you right in the middle of the 5K to 8K range.
What you'll want to do to see if the Equa-Flex item # LC145546 is the right size for your Winnebago Minnie is take a couple of measurements. If you'll look at the diagram I attached below you'll see a left to right measurement along with a vertical one. You'll want to measure one of your existing equalizers from the center of each bolt hole the same way.
When you swap out your equalizers, you'll also want to switch out your hardware as those wet bolts are only meant to be torqued down once. You'll want to pick a kit with the closest size to your current shackle straps, measured from the center hole to the center hole.
The MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers item # MR46ZR is for 2-1/4" shackles or item # MR98ZR is for 3-1/8" shackles. These kits come with the bronze bushings, wet bolts and shackle straps.
Are you also wanting to replace your leaf springs? I highly recommend doing so since you'll already be disassembling most of your suspension to replace the equalizers.

Hey Michael, Did you get a chance to measure your existing equalizers to see if the Equa-Flex kit is the right fit for your Winnebago Minnie? I'm asking because I want to make sure you have everything you need for a smooth installation.
