Hello Adam, thanks for reaching out. We do have AC units that can be used on your 1998 Winnebago Chieftain. The best option will be to replace the whole AC system, meaning the rooftop unit, controller, distribution box and thermostat. Reason being all new RV AC units use the new R32 refrigerant and these units are not backwards compatible with old AC systems. What I recommend is the following:

- Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone - 15,000 Btu - White - R32 # ADV92SR

This comes with everything you need to replace/upgrade your AC system. You get the rooftop unit, controller, distribution box, start capacitor and wall thermostat. The Advent units will work with both ductless and ducted systems.

Hey Adam, did you decide to go with the Advent Air system for your Winnebago Chieftain? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others in a similar situation.

@Victoria So there is a heat strip, part # ADV34QR that can be added to the Advent unit I mentioned above. The heat strip is really just to take the chill out of the air on those chilly mornings and is not a substitute for a furnace. If you need more heating capability, we do have the GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC System w/ Heat # GE34RR. This comes with a heat pump which will do a lot more than a heat strip. If you need even more heat, the next thing would be adding a separate furnace like the Dometic RV Furnace # DMC68RR. This would do even more than the heat pump and would be great if you plan to camp in cold places during the winter.
