Question:
...reference the Swagman Exo Aero saddle style kayak mounts...I have two 18ft fiberglass expedition kayaks that are 25 inches wide and ride on their own separate trailer...I need to replace the current J style mounts for those kayaks and am looking for a mounting platform that allows for the kayak to sit flat, bottom side down, instead of at an angle in a J style mount...I am concerned that this mount, based on a previous answer provided to another customer in the QandA section, is 28 inches wide and it looks like at least two inches on each side is flat and therefore would not allow my kayaks to sit in them properly....is this a fair assumption and if so do you have any suggestions to solve my problem?...I am not interested in any type of pad and roller system as I have used them in the past and did not like how they left black marks on my kayaks when the boats were transported in them during hot weather...not sure how wide the Malone MegaWing fishing kayak mounts are or if they would be a better solution for my needs...thanks for the help...

Hey Greg, while the overall width of the Swagman Exo Aero part # S65145 is 28 inches and has flat spots on the ends of the carrier the hull on your expedition kayaks are not totally flat so they would still easily fit into the v-shaped portion of this carrier.
The Malone MegaWing # MPG207 is a similar width at 27-1/2 inches as well.
